Glaucoma Nonhuman Primates Disease Model

Glaucoma is a debilitating eye disease that can lead to irreversible vision loss due to damage to the optic nerve. Ocular hypertension is one of the most important risk factors in glaucoma development. Prisys Biotechnologies offers a nonhuman primate model of glaucoma induced by anterior chamber injection. This model has a standard study duration of 15-20 weeks and includes clinical endpoints such as IOP measurement, slit-lamp examination, color funduscope examination, eyeball biopsy, histopathology, clinical observation, and OCT examination under dexamethasone eye drops. The model produces human-similar manifestations of glaucoma and allows for controlled elevation of IOP.
